CodeSleuth Just Released: CodeSleuth plug-in to Eclipse

Download CodeSleuth, a plug-in to the Eclipse IDE that brings the functionality of AMD's CodeAnalyst™ Performance Analyzer to Java code for increased performance management and monitoring. CodeSleuth exposes CPU performance data and maps that information to the code emitted by the JVM, and then to the Java source. This data allows Java developers to analyze and modify the code to improve application performance.

AMD CodeAnalyst Just Released: AMD CodeAnalyst™ for Linux version 2.7

AMD CodeAnalyst for Linux now supports new performance monitoring events provided by the AMD "Barcelona" family (AMD Family 10h) processors, including Quad Core AMD Opteron™ and AMD Phenom™ processors. It also provides a new profile technique, Instruction-Based Sampling (IBS), to provide precise performance analysis on AMD Family 10h processors.

AMD Core Math Library (ACML) Just Released: AMD Core Math Library version 4.0.1

AMD Core Math Library (ACML) now includes support for Absoft Pro FORTRAN compilers. The Absoft compiler suite includes optimizations for the complete line of AMD processors, as well as specialized tuning for the new Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors.

PGI Extends CDK Tuned for Barcelona to WCCS PGI Extends CDK Tuned for Barcelona to WCCS

PGI introduces its PGI CDK® Cluster Development Kit® for Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003.  The PGI CDK Cluster Development Kit features PGI's suite of optimizing parallel Fortran, C and C++ compilers tuned for Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ Processors. In addition, it includes PBDBG®, an OpenMP and MPI parallel symbolic debugger and PGPROF®, an OpenMP and MPI parallel graphical performance profiler.

Win cash prizes in the Multicore Threadfest competition series Win cash prizes in the Multicore Threadfest competition series

AMD and TopCoder are hosting a series of multithreading coding contests called Multicore Threadfest.  The winning code will be featured on http://developer.amd.com and includes cash prizes depending on the ranking of your code.  The first contest started March 12th and ends March 26th with three more contests scheduled for later this year.  You can join at any time during the two weeks, but hurry, the sooner you join, the more time you have to get your code to the top!

AMD Core Math Library (ACML) AMD@EclipseCon 2008, March 17-20

AMD was a Hardware Sponsor and a Gold Sponsor at EclipseCon 2008 in Santa Clara, CA.  Attendees had an opportunity to learn about CodeSleuth, our plugin for Eclipse, as well as check out some AMD SPIDER systems that were on display.  AMD donated five Quad-Core AMD Opteron servers to run the Eclipse Foundation infrastructure, one of which was on display in the AMD Hardware Lounge.
